Is it okay to wash out a empty jar of mayonnaise and put fresh mayo in it? (if have a very large jar of it)?

wash it with hot water and dish soap a couple times, and rinse it out with hot water many times to make sure their is no soap residue, and let it completely air dry on a drainboard, and it will be good to use for anything you want. Make sure the lid is clean also.
